Obituary of John Willie Anderson

John W. Anderson, son of Cecil James and Margie Lee Anderson was born on January 8, 1956, in Baltimore, MD. He was the youngest of seven children. After graduating from Northwestern High School in June of 1974, John joined the U.S. Army where he served for 28 years. He achieved the rank of Sergeant Major. After retirement, John worked at the Social Security Administration and the Fort Meade Army Education Center. John was ordained a Deacon at New Psalmist Baptist Church where he faithfully served until his illness. John W. Anderson, 68, transitioned from labor to reward on January 19, 2024. He leaves to mourn and cherish his memory: a beloved wife, Mrs. Joyce Anderson. A viewing will be held on Friday, February 2, 2024 from 5:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Vaughn Greene Funeral Services, 8728 Liberty Road, Randallstown, MD 21133. On Saturday, February 3, 2024, a homegoing celebration for Mr. John W. Anderson will be held at the New Psalmist Baptist Church, 6020 Marian Drive, where the family will receive friends from 10:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. with services to follow. At a later date, the interment service will be held at the Arlington National Cemetery where Mr. Anderson will receive military honors for his faithful service in the United States Army.
