Obituary of Lena Ellen Shealaynosun

Ms. Lena Ellen Shealaynosun, age 54, of Hanover, transitioned Thursday, December 10, 2020. Ms. Shealaynosun was born February 2, 1966 in Philadelphia, PA. The Homegoing Celebration for Ms. Shealaynosun will be held Monday, December 21, 2020 at Cross Road Church of the Nazarene, 2750 Rogers Avenue, Ellicott City, MD (21043), where the family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. with services to follow. The interment will take place Wednesday, December 23, 2020 at 12 noon at Monmouth Memorial Park in Tinton Falls, NJ 07753. OBITUARY Obituary Lena Ellen Shealayno'sun was born February 2, 1966 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to Ortistorea Shealayno'sun and Deardra Gladden. She moved to Neptune, NJ when her father's job moved to NJ. She attended parochial schools most of her life and graduated from St. Rose High School in Belmar, NJ. She was a straight A Student and received a perfect attendance award for twelve years never absent, never late. She received a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering/Pre-Medical Engineering from George Washington University, in Washington, D. C., on May 12, 1991. She received a Master's degree from Marymount University in Maryland in Finance/International Business. In the beginning of her career she worked for the Department of the Navy. At the time of her death, she was working for the US Army Corp of Engineers. On January 25, 2017, she received an award for thirty years of service to the United States Government. Lena was a faithful member of Crossroads Church of the Nazarene. She was a Girl Scout, a member of the National Honor Society, a member of Delta Epsilon Sigma National Scholastic Honor Society, a member of the Society of American Military Engineers, and a licensed Professional Engineer. She served as a teacher in the Children's Ministry at Crossroads Church. She was a world traveler. Her great love for the Lord led her to missionary work in Ghana, Israel, and Belgium, among other countries. Lena was predeceased by her father, Ortistorea Shealayno'sun. She leaves to cherish her memory, her mother, Deardra Shealayno'sun, (Neptune, NJ): Siblings – Damian, Steven (Debi), Camille, Amelia, Rachel Shealayno'sun (Neptune, NJ), Vermargina (Larry) Wilkerson (Philadelphia, PA), and a host of uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
