Obituary of Joseph Ellsworth Conway

Joseph Ellsworth Conway peacefully departed his earthly existence on Saturday, June 6, 2020, after a lengthy illness. Joseph "Joe" was born on July 10, 1937 in Baltimore, Maryland to the late James and Julia Conway. He was the eighth born of eleven children. Joe attended Baltimore City Public Schools. He continued his educational journey at Morgan State University where he received a Bachelor of Science degree. He later became employed with Prince George's County Schools where he was a beloved science teacher. He retired from the school system in 1992 after many years of service. Uncle Joe, as he was affectionately called by his family was a devoted brother, uncle and cousin. He loved his family and there wasn't anything he wouldn't do for them. He shared many special moments with his nieces and nephews. Joe loved to travel and could not wait until he came home to tell everyone of his experiences and all of the wonderful sights he saw. His other loves were bowling, square dancing, playing the piano, walking with his friends at the mall and volunteering. He enjoyed every minute of volunteering. He dedicated most of is retirement to helping others at different senior centers. Joseph leaves to mourn, a sister Doris Conway, a brother Charles Conway, sister-in-law Erma Knox and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
