Nieces and nephews Donnie and I was very close in age so we were able to communicate well with each other. I remember trying to talk him out of going into the military but his mind was made up. As you know Donnie had that quiet spoken personality.
He told me then he would not return to Indiana to live. Donnie loved his family, but sometime we have to step out and find our own path. This is what he did. He found a new home, family along with peace and comfort in Maryland but never forgot his Indiana family. Nephew rest in peace. Your loving Aunt Gertrude
