Crystol Sills was the best part of the best job that I had at Morgan State University. Every task assigned to me while I was Dean of the School of Graduate Studies or Vice President for Academic Outreach and Engagement was accomplished only because Ms. Sills paved the path to success. I will miss her guidance and her friendship.

Dear Sarah and Crystol's entire family,
Please accept my heartfelt condolences. I am so, so, shocked and saddened b this loss. Crystol was such a joy. Every single time we got together, I felt lifted and better off for spending time with her. She was always eager to provide help and support. She will be missed.

Crystol was a loyal colleague and friend. I knew her to be a lover of great food and any breed of dogs. She will be sorely missed by all that knew her and especially her loving daughter Sarah. Rest in paradise.

To My Lil Cousin Sarah...I have known your Mom since we were little kids, about age 6 .My Aunts and Grandmother knew her closely first at First United Copley Rd and as kids we played along with my Sisters..All the way up to college and getting rides..she was always witty and fit right in into our famiky along with Grant like a Brother. We also stay over her house for Sunday night service sometimes..since we lived far out in Carroll County just to hear Monroe preach and Marcus direct the choir...It was exciting times...Your parents ..I loved your parents..your Dad ..more than a cousin, another brother....your Mom ..like one of my Sweet sisters...she made me laugh and helped me get thru consulting with her...I introduced them to each other...they made You....therefor you are and even more meaningful life for me and for you and others. She also joked and dared me to go to the military...I did...and missed the bantering between Adre John Chris and me......so much joy..so much laughter...so surely missed...remember..we Luv you Cousin...and here ..for you...even far..our spirits stay connected....and as well as your Dad....Crystol...made me laugh and she was stubbon...but was always kind ..welcoming and listening..to me.....

To daughter Sarah Heidelberg and other members of the immediate family and to the Morgan Family of Ms. Crystol Bernice Sills: I am deeply saddened by the sudden passing of our colleague and friend Crystol Bernice (Heidelberg) Sills, and I offer my sincere condolences to both families for our loss. She was a treasured member of the Morgan community for twenty-four years. I had the pleasure of working closely with her not long after she came to Morgan in 2000. When I edited a special issue of the “Academic Connection,” the annual publication of the Division of Academic Affairs, in 2008, she was Financial Manager for the School of Graduate Studies under Dean Maurice C. Taylor, and she contributed a well-written article, “Finance and Graduate Education,” to that issue of the publication. I was impressed by how methodical and precise she was in her work, giving special attention to details, and by how effective and eloquent she was in expressing herself. A proud alumna of Morgan, she contributed greatly to that issue of the journal and to the Tradition of Excellence at Morgan over the 24 years during which she was a member of the administration. It was my great pleasure and my honor to work with her and to call her colleague and friend, and Morgan is by far a greater institution for the contributions that she made and the legacy that she leaves behind. “Good night, sweet princess, and flights of angels sing thee to thy rest!”
