Obituary of Ralph Stewart

Ralph Stewart, born on June 5, 1952, at City Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones. He was the sixth child of the late Vernon and Bernice Stewart and one of eight siblings. Ralph attended Baltimore City Public Schools and began a long and fulfilling career with the Department of Public Works, where he dedicated many years of service before retiring after 40 years. In 1976, he married Barbara Gaskins, and together they welcomed two beautiful children, Corey and Candice Stewart. Ralph was a proud grandfather to Khiorie Stewart, who brought immense joy to his life. He cherished spending time with his family, including his many nieces and nephews. A devoted family man, Ralph was preceded in death by his beloved sisters, Dora Versell Grant and Gloria Andrews, as well as his brother, Vernon Stewart Jr. He was also a proud member of the Freemasons. In his free time, Ralph enjoyed playing softball, the drums and horseshoes, activities that brought him closer to friends and family. Ralph will be remembered for his kind heart, strong spirit, and the love he shared with all who knew him. On Friday, October 11, 2024, friends may visit Vaughn C. Greene Funeral Services, 4905 York Road, Baltimore, MD 21212, from 4:30 - 7:00 PM. On Saturday, October 12, 2024, service for Mr. Stewart will take place at Mt Pleasant Church and Ministries, where the family will receive friends from 10:30 – 11:00 AM with services to follow.
