I met Marva for the first time, two times! The first first time happened in Williamstown! Marva was on her way to met her daughter in the dorm. Now Marva knew the name of the dorm, but not quite how to get there!
When she saw me, she called me over like we were good friends, friends who knew each other for a long, long time! As fate would have it, I not only knew how to get to the dorm, but I knew her daughter as well! Knowing this, Marva grab me and we strolled and chatted arm-in-arm to the dorm! Marva told me about her daughter, her accomplishments, and how excited she was! When I say we chatted, I mean she chatted and I made listening noises! I had a throughly enjoyable time! I'd never had an experience like, not before Marva and not since! That will be an everlasting memory for me!
The second first time happened some years later. I was being introduced to the family. I recognized Marva right away! Well more the voice at first! She was talking a mile a minute, talking about her day, her first job, her struggles, if it happened to, near or around her, she'd talk about it; and I was enthralled! And that feeling never changed! Whether we were sitting across the dining room table, sharing a couch or on the phone, we were connected! She took me into the family like I was one of her own! I felt like her child! I adored her! She was wonderful both to and for me. She held, for me, a connection I was afraid I would lose!
She lives in my heart!

Aunts. They are a delightful sprinkle of everything. A teacher, a second mother, the funniest friend and the best secret keeper. Always made to feel like one of your daughters, I cherish more than ever memories of time spent with you and my four cousins – your daughters, Dena, Tammy, Allison and Mindell.
As you have transitioned to become the guardian angel watching over your family here on Earth, my heart is heavy as the world has lost a wonderful soul, my Dear Aunt Marva. In every story, every memory, and every tear I know my aunt’s love continues to comfort. Forever remembering the laughter, the advice and the love, my heart will never let you truly be gone.
May God continue to bless those who you have left behind as you are with Heavenly Father …
