Bishop Dr. Mackie J. Cookley, age 85, transitioned from this mortal world on Saturday, May 11, 2024, in Baltimore, MD. Bishop Mackie was born February 27, 1939, in Jamestown, SC to the late James and Susan Cookley. Bishop Mackie is the husband of Mrs. Lucille S. Cookley and founding pastor of Cookleys Community Baptist Church.
On Friday, May 24, 2024, the family will receive friends at Cookleys Community Baptist Church, from 4:00 – 7:00 PM. On Saturday, May 25, 2024, the homegoing celebration will take place with a wake from 10:00 – 10:30 AM, with a ceremony to follow. The interment will take place at King Memorial Park immediately following the ceremony.
