Obituary of Vonderlia Holloway

Vonderlia Holloway, daughter of the late Wryant Holloway and Jannie Mae McCullough, was born on April 28, 1957 in Baltimore, Maryland. On February 11, 2024 her life's journey came to a sudden and unexpected end leaving a void in our hearts. Vonderlia affectionately known as "Vonde" received her education at Edmondson Senior High School in Baltimore, MD. Upon graduation in 1975, Vonde attended University of Maryland Baltimore County. However, she decided to shift her priorities to fulltime employment. She began her career in 1984 at the United States Postal Service where she worked for 36 and 1/2 years until her retirement in 2020. Throughout her time at the Post Office she held several positions and made numerous friends. Vonde's greatest accomplishment was accepting Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior in her early twenties. She was baptized at Central Church of Christ where she became a lifelong member and faithfully served over four decades. Her passion was evangelism and singing on the Central Chorus. She loved singing and traveling to other churches lifting up the name of Jesus through song. Vonde loved her church family and had a special calling to provide transportation for seniors, where she would take them to and from church. This commitment to serve seniors extended beyond the church walls and included taking seniors to doctors appointments, the grocery store and any other place they needed. She also found time to visit those who were sick and shut-in. Vonde's gift of helping others was seen throughout her entire life. There was nothing that she wouldn't do for anyone. Vonde was a social butterfly who enjoyed family and hanging out with her church sisters. An ardent fan of the Baltimore Ravens and Baltimore Orioles, Vonde was thrilled when each of her teams won. She loved bowling and traveling with her friends. She specifically found great joy in traveling to the National Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, NY on several occasions with Sis. Day. Vonde ALWAYS spent time with those she loved. She dedicated herself and time unconditionally to provide, nurture and support family and friends. Vonde adored her nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews who lovingly called her "Aunt Vonde". She became Aunt Vonde to all of their friends and everyone who met her. To know her was to absolutely "Love" her. She was also an amazing Auntie to the furry members of the family and had a shared love and bond with Bean and Zaylee. You could always count on Vonde to show up for special occasions. She always gave glory, honor and praise to God in every situation no matter good or bad. She was known for her love of people, food, and thrifting. She leaves many memories to be cherished by her three sisters, Patricia Adams, the belated Barbara Holloway-House, and Adrian McKenzie (Anthony); four brothers, Norris Holloway (late Rose), Anthony McCullough (Naomi), DelCarlo McCullough (late Cassandra) and Purnell McCullough; nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.
