Mother Hicks was a true mother who was not afraid to correct and to teach :). When my boyfriend and I had broken up and he brought another woman with him to church, Mother Hicks firmly but nicely pulled him and and advised him "Son, you better go back and get that first girl!" He heeded her advice lol and over 10 years later, we're still together! I'll also always remember her loving corrections and her working in the church kitchen. Love Melanie & Tacon

I will always remember the joy I felt every time my mom said we were going to Vete’s house or they were coming to ours. My best memory was one Thanksgiving Vete stayed over and cooked some greens.
