Nancy and I were members of a friendship circle of Columbia friends for over 40 years. We shopped and ate! After raising our children and most of us widowed over time, we diverted a major portion of our resources to spoiling our grandchildren and then using the remainder on traveling, shopping, and eating (after tithing of course). Early on, we named ourselves “The Nubian Circle “ and kept our circle between ten and twelve , replacing those who passed on with women of a similar bent and attitude, i.e. girls who like to have fun. We eventually dropped monthly hosting abandoning our fine china legacy for the children to enjoy (?)!! Trips to Broadway and casinos became more frequent. We occasionally call and visit those who can no longer make meetings. Some of us no longer drive because their children have decreed………….! We miss Nancy already. I was thrilled that she made my 90th birthday celebration (November 2022). Nancy never missed a party and I didn’t realize that was the last time I would see her. I’m thrilled that our last time together was a fun time! Love from the active Nubians:

Krystal and Deanna you all have been apart of my life and family growing up forever. I remember the places that you lived and traveled to. My Mom was so sad to see her best friend go away to travel with her husband and family. Couldn't wait for her return Stateside. When I received the news about Nancy whom we fondly called Aunt Nancy growing up I was completely heartbroken I'm sending you and Deanna my deepest of sympathy and condolences for another Angel has her Wings and is now resting in the arms of the King!!
