Obituary of John Paul Williams Jr.

John Paul Williams, Jr. was born February 10,1948 in Baltimore, MD. He was the oldest son of the late Helen Marion Gibson and John Paul Williams, Sr. He departed this life on October 31, 2023. Known as Johnny among family and friends, he attended Talbot County Public Schools graduating from Easton High School in 1967, where he played football and wrestled. After high school, Johnny enlisted in the United States Navy 1st Division and served on the USS Lexington from 1967 to 1975. He then served in the Air Force Reserves 376th AGE from 1978 to 1984. After his service in the Navy, Johnny had a long career in HVAC. He worked for the United States Post Office and then at NASA for Chugach Federal Solutions, retiring in 2016. Johnny is survived by his sons, John Paul Williams, III (Shantay), Owings Mills, MD, Larry Neal, Milford Mill, MD and Johnathon Williams, Tucson, AZ; five grandchildren, Jordan and Justin Williams, and Niya, Shauna, and Nicholas Neal; five siblings, Helen Paulette Albury (George), Oxford, MD, JoAnn W. Bryan, Shadyside, MD. Vanessa Wright (Phillip), Randallstown, MD, David H. Williams (Vilma), Washington, DC and Lydia J. Williams, Smyrna, DE.; and an uncle, John Gibson, Sr., Baltimore, MD. In addition, he leaves to mourn his niece and goddaughter, Dana J. Albury, Baltimore, MD and two lifelong friends, his cousin Donald E. Gibson, Sr. (Florence), Katy, TX and William E. Benston, Jr., Upper Marlboro, MD and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. A viewing will be held on November 10, 2023, from 5 pm to 7 pm at Vaughn Greene Funeral Home, 8728 Liberty Road, Randallstown, MD. A memorial service is planned for next month on the Eastern Shore.
