Obituary of Albert McKinney Sr.

Life of Albert McKinney, Sr Retired Major Albert McKinney was born on August 7, 1949, to the parents of Versey Mae Johnson and Theodore Augustus Sheen. Albert attended Dunbar High School in Baltimore, Maryland and in 1969 joined the United States Air Force. He went on to graduate from Officers Training School and completed his education at Troy University with a master's degree. While serving in the Air Force he worked as a Fire Protection Officer, Missile Launch Officer, and Transportation Officer. He served in the Vietnam War, Operations Desert Shield, and Desert Storm. He was a highly decorated officer, during his service he received a Meritorious Service Medal, AF Commendation Medal, AF Achievement Medal, Distinguished-Presidential Unit Citation, Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, and Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal. He also received AF Outstanding Unit Award, AF Overseas Short Tour Ribbon, AF Overseas Long Tour Ribbon, Longevity Service Award Ribbon, NCO Professional Military Education Graduate Ribbon, Small Arms Expert Marksmanship Ribbon, AF Training Ribbon, Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross. Albert McKinney, Sr married Patricia A McKinney on September 8, 1973, in Baltimore, Maryland. They have two children Alecia Wiegand and Albert McKinney, Jr. who traveled the world with him during his service until his retirement at Dyess Air Force base in 1995. As a family, they lived in Delaware, Arkansas, Illinois, California, Portugal, and Texas. Family of Albert McKinney, Sr He leaves behind 5 grandchildren. Siobhan L Norman, daughter Albert McKinney, Jr. Auna C Wiegand, Alexandria S Wiegand, Dresden S Wiegand, Dylan S Wiegand children of Alecia Wiegand and Son in Law David S Wiegand. He leaves two beloved brothers Samuel W McKinney and Reno McKinney. Beloved Sister and Best Friend Dorothy (Dottie Jean) McKinney. A host of loving Sister In Laws, Brother in Laws, Nephews, Nieces, Cousins and Friends. Special Thank you, To Family and Friends, there is such great comfort in the assurance that we are not alone in the house of this great loss.
