Obituary of Eartha I. Adekoya

Eartha I. Adekoya, 69, of Baltimore, MD, peacefully passed away on August 1st surrounded by loved ones, after a brief illness. Eartha Adekoya was born December 25th, 1953, to Flora Brown and William Franklin in Baltimore, MD. Eartha graduated from Forest Park High School and continued her studies at Baltimore City Community College where she pursued Nursing and became a Certified Nursing Assistant. After graduation, she worked for the Social Security Administration for 39 years. She received many awards and accolades including receiving an award from the Governor of MD during her tenure at Social Security. In 1975 she met and married Kehinde and went on to have two, Abolore and Idris. Eartha moved to Louisville, Ky in 2003 where she retired and became a mother to Jalen in March 2012, and eventually moved to Virginia to be closer to her family. In her retired years, Eartha loved to travel, shop, and spend time with her family. Moreover enjoyed her time with her best friend of 40yrs, Carolyn, whom she loved dearly. Eartha was predeceased by her parents Flora & William, her brothers Michael & Keith, and her sister Ernestine. She is survived by her three children, Abolore, Idris, & Jalen. A viewing for Mrs. Adekoya will be held on Monday, August 21, 2023, from 4:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Vaughn Greene Funeral Services, 8728 Liberty Road, Randallstown, MD 21133. Immediately following services, the Interment will be held at Crestlawn Memorial.
