Obituary of Granville Edward Carter

Granville Edward Carter son of Alfred N. Carter Sr. And Mary Julia Bea Carter, was born on January 1, 1933 in North Cumberland County, VA. He Departed this life on May 21, 2023 after a brief but devastating illness. Granville was one of thirteen children. He migrated and was educated in Baltimore in the early 1940's. Where he married Hilda Marie Carter on January 28, 1956. They were married for 67 Years. Born from this Union two children Granville E. Carter and Derrick Marvin Carter. They have three grandchildren Sharlyn Carter, Derrick Carter Jr. And Matteo Carter. Granville worked at Bethlehem Steel Sparrow Point. Retired on April 13, 1995 after 42 years. After retiring, Granville started his own lawn and handyman service. He was known for his dry sense of humor and helpful spirit. Granville enjoyed helping and teaching young people his skills, he leaves behind his wife Hilda, two sons, Derrick (Rose) and Granville (Gina), two sisters, Virginia Carter and Shirley Roxane, three grandchildren Sharlyn, Derrick Jr, and Matteo, and numerous nieces and nephews.
