Obituary of Sarah Chisolm

Sarah was born on April 27, 1931 in Sumter South Carolina to the late Abraham and Binah Johnson. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Lessie Mae, Bristow, Naomi, Marion, Carrie, and Wilhelmina. Sarah attended school in Sumter, South Carolina. Sarah's surviving siblings: Brothers George Johnson, deceased wife Adeline Johnson, Abraham Johnson wife Delores Johnson, William Johnson wife Octavia, and sister Nell Gates deceased husband Roger Gates. Sarah married Wesley Mack and moved to Philadelphia Pa. Wesley passed away prematurely in 1966. She received her license as a Licensed Practical Nurse in 1967. She was later employed at Saint Mary's Hospital. She also worked as a companion for multiple different families. Sarah was baptized in 1969. She was a devoted family member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witnesses where she remained until her passing. Sarah moved to Baltimore MD in 1985 and married John Chisolm 11/23/1991. Sarah enjoyed baking peaches and dumplings, sweet potato pie, and peach cobbler as some of her signature dishes. Sarah loved to travel, with one of her favorite places being Puerto Rico. She was a professional seamstress and even taught her son Wesley, and daughter Gail how to sew as a teenagers. Sarah leaves to cherish her memories, her husband John Chisolm, 5 children, Katherine Moore deceased husband Orlando Moore, Martha Parrish husband Charles Parrish, Wesley Mack, Gary Mack wife Ernistine Mack, and Valerie Mack deceased husband Coley Barbee. 12 Grandchildren, 33 Great grandchildren and 7 GreatGreat Grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family and friends.
