Obituary of Janay Anaya Thomas

Our beautiful bright, and loving Janay Anaya Thomas, 22, of Baltimore, Maryland, suddenly passed on February 4, 2023. Janay affectionately known as "Nay-Nay" or "Yea" given by her father as a child because it was how she sound when she cried, was born on July 30, 2000 to John Anthony Thomas and Sonya Hairston Thomas in Baltimore, MD at Greater Baltimore Medical Center. She attended Harford County Public Schools from pre-K to 10th grade. During the time, Nay was a "true diva" that excelled in academics; the first to get her homework completed and have her clothes with accessories laid out for the next school day and waking her brother up to ensure he's on-time for school, too. Nay was nuturing and responsible at an early age. She played recreational softball and played the clarinet in her school band.In her 10th grade year of high school, she transferred to Baltimore City Public Schools where she attended Paul Laurence Dunbar High School. Nay continued to excel in academics and granduated top 10 in her class. She elected to attend her mother's alma mater, Morgan State University mojoring in accounting. Nay will be missed by her family and friends. A service of rememberance will be held, 3pm, Monday, February 20, 2023, in the chapel at Vaughn Greene Funeral Services - East, 4905 York Road, Baltimore, MD 21212.
