Mr. Cassell. Classy. Quiet. Kind. Strong. Thoughtful. Funny. And now, incredibly missed. He always showed me love and asked about my mom. Truly a great man. Praying for his dear wife and family!

My dad was my earthly example of God's love. He chose to be my dad when he wed my mom on Christmas of 1980. Yes, I got a dad for my 10th Christmas and I had no idea how much he would be the gift that kept giving.
He never tried to replace my father, but constantly encouraged me (and at times pushed me) to try to make my relationship with my father work. When daddy asked me what I wanted for my 21st birthday, I said I wanted his name. He was adamant that I keep my father's name too, so I had a double maiden name based on his wisdom and guidance.
Daddy was my best friend, my confidant, and the only person that really knew me. He loved me unconditionally and embraced everything about me. If he saw I had a talent that wasn't traditional for girls, he didn't care. He taught me anyway.
Daddy was so loving of mommy and me. He was an old school romantic that would surprise mommy with flowers or chocolate just because. He would also surprise me with any treats that I barely mentioned I liked. He listened to the small things most people ignore. He never missed an opportunity to tell mommy and me that he loved us.
And daddy loved his granddogs. They had a special bond all the way to the end. His granddogs would get so excited to see him, and I caught daddy on more than one occasion sneaking them hotdogs. They truly had their own relationship outside of me.
Daddy, I miss you so much, but I'm thankful you're in heaven in your new body. No more pain. No more treatments. Just love. That's what you deserve for all the love you gave us. I love you, daddy!

Believe me, Adam was somewhat of a Saint in that I never met anyone that didn't like him, I never recall him getting angry, he never cussed, he never had a fight, he never spoke bad of anyone, he would help everyone. Often when it snowed he would use his snow blower to clear his sidewalk and those of all of the neighbors on both sides of the street for the whole block. He would get up 3 or 4 o'clock in the morning to help me with flat tires on the beltway etc. He constantly counseled me in and effort ensure that I always did the right thing and was moving in the right direction. There is nothing, within reason, that he would not do for me and anyone. He and his wife Delores were on the Board of Directors of several Churches and held other significant Church positions. Until the Virus and illness Adam controlled the sound and lights for most of the services, at Grace Bible Baptist Church, and it was said that he hardly missed serving at any funerals. Delores, his wife, who is an accomplished singer, was the Choir Director. Adam and Delores were made for one another and still have a Love that know no end. Even when offered free trips, etc., Adam would not go anywhere without his beloved Wife Delores. Adam and his Daughter Cherise had a very special and unique relationship. Cherise indicated that Adam taught her how to fix almost anything. They all had strong meaningful relationships grounded in the Church and the Lord. When Adam became ill both Delores and Cherise spent many days and sleepless nights watching over him 24 hours a day.
If there is a Heaven I know Adam is and deserves to be there. His illnesses had put him through hell, for years but he never ever complained, and would hardly tell you he was felling bad even if he was in excruciating pain. He never asked "Why me." We are happy that he is no longer in pain and we know that he resting with the Lord. He exemplifies a life well lived and that contributed to the betterment of all that he touched. Thank you for all you have done for me. I will always love and never forget you.
Your Brother;
Mike Cassell
