Today I said my Goodbyes for now to my babe, the love of my life, the gift from God I prayed for. It was a complete pleasure loving you my Cory ♥️ We were 2 imperfect people determined to give each other perfect love. When God blessed me with you…I was so nervous and afraid! Didn’t know that God was gonna answer my prayer so quickly. I thank you for all you were to Kait & Kels… I am very protective of them and you made it clear that you didn’t come here to play. Dear Cory, where do I begin. I still can’t believe you left. At first I was in shock and it really didn’t register that you’re not coming back but then, days after hearing of your passing it began to sink in and all these memories of our friendship started to flood my mind. How you use to call me Lboogie, or when I would say “Cory” you would answer “Yes Lori "because the way our names rhyme , that infectious laugh, those bony fingers that would hurt like hell when you smack my leg lol, your big bear hugs, or how you use to call my dad POPPAWOO! and all of our fun times together . Even when we would go through our spells of not speaking we would always find our way back. You were the brother me and my sisters never had, you were the son my dad never had. I’m so angry that this happened. I have so many questions I just don’t understand why. I dreamed about you a few weeks ago so I called to check up on you and we made plans to meet up when I came home for Thanksgiving. I can’t even phantom seeing you in a casket you were so full of life, every time I think about it my heart begins to race and my hands get sweaty from anxiety. This is truly a hard one to accept. I’m going to miss you, Thank you for being the boys godfather, thank you for all the times you were there for me, and the memories that I will always cherish. Cory, I can’t even believe I’m having to type this. My heart is so heavy. You were a true friend, awesome son, father, brother and just a beautiful person. You always gave a helping hand and always a teachable moment. Your smile was contagious. We loss a true gem. I loss a good friend.
