Mr. Melvin B. Bates of Columbia, MD, transitioned on Monday, October 10th, 2022, in Columbia, MD. Mr. Bates was born on February 18, 1945, in Baltimore, MD. On Wednesday, October 26th, 2022, friends may visit Vaughn C. Greene Funeral Services, 5151 Baltimore National Pike, Baltimore, MD 21229 from 4:00 – 7:00 PM. On Thursday, October 27th, 2022, services for Mr. Bates will be held at St. John Baptist Church 9055 Tamar Drive, Columbia, MD 21045, where family will receive friends from 10:00 – 11:00 AM with services to follow. The interment will be held at Crownsville Veterans Cemetery, 1122 Sunrise Beach Road, Crownsville, MD 21032. If desired, in honor of Melvin B.
