Jacqueline “Jackie” Denise Scott, daughter of the late Theodore Scott and Sylvia McCray, was born June 6, 1968, in Baltimore, Maryland. Jackie was called home on July 21, 2022, after a lengthy illness.
She attended Baltimore City Public Schools, where she met Reginald Dobyns Sr., and out of this union, she had three daughters; Raven, Latoya (Wade), and Kandi(Gerald), and one son, Reginald Dobyns Junior. She later had another son Jabriel McGowens, whom she shared with her beloved life partner, the late Gregory A. McGowens Sr. She adored her children; they were her anchor and guiding light.
From an early age, Jackie’s outgoing personality and bubbly spirit brought together many friends. She had many passions, including a love of music which prompted her successful but short-lived rap career. Jackie could do anything she put her mind to. Her smile illuminated any room, and her sense of humor uplifted all those around her.
Jackie was a loving daughter, mother, sister, aunt, and cherished friend. It was her selflessness and nurturing soul that made people instantly fall in love with her. She would give her last to a person whom she shared just a simple conversation with.
She is preceded in death by several siblings: Nathaniel, Taylor Guther, Torino Alexander, and Deborah Taylor.
Jackie leaves behind a legacy of love, Paul Collins, Resa McCray, Debbie Void, Calvin Collins, Rainy Scott, Christopher Taylor, Lawrence Taylor, Theodore Scott, Reginald Taylor, Darcel Taylor, and Theodora Taylor. In addition to five grandchildren: Savaili Harris, Gabriel and O'Rian Daniels, Ardelle, and Karma Dobyns.
She will be truly missed. “Goodbyes are not forever. Goodbye is not the end. They simply mean I’ll miss you until we meet again.”
