Obituary of Frank Douglas Nicholas Clarke

Frank Douglas Nicholas Clarke, age 81 of Rosedale, Maryand, died April 25, in Parkville, MD. He was born on December 6 in 1940 to Avis (Blades) Clarke and William Clarke in Brittons Hill in Saint Michael Barbados. He is one of 7 siblings Percy Blades, Peter LaFleur, Anthony Clarke, Michael Mustafa, Umilta Luqman and Khallidah Ali. Frank Clarke moved to Trinidad at an early age and lived there until his early twenties. He spent time learning the trades at Easten Foundry in Trinidad from his teens until his twenties. He worked as a welder for Alcoa Steamship company where he traveled to various international countries. He moved to Montreal Canada in 1968 and lived there until he was recruited as a welder by Bethlehem Steel. He moved to the United States where he worked as a welder for over 30 years in Sparrows Point at Bethlehem Steel in Baltimore, Maryland. He left Bethlehem Steel and worked from July 25, 1996 as a welder at the Plumbers and Steamfitters Local 486 until he retired on August 1, 2006. He was an avid conversationalist, was a fervid naturopathic herbalist, loved playing the Lottery, was a tea enthusiast, was a voracious reader, enjoyed summer carnival events where he could listen to reggae and steel pan music, was a devoted gardener, was a sharp dressed man and loved his family as well as his friends. Frank Douglas Nicholas Clarke is survived by his six children Dave Clarke, Dane Snaggs, Lisa Chambers, Keisha Clarke-English, Shawn Frederick and Nalini Clarke. He was a grandfather to Kashif Clarke, Janniki Clarke, Mandi Clarke, Joseph Clarke, Ajani Chambers, Shawndria Frederick and Kaden Chambers. A memorial service will be held 2:30 pm, May 5, 2022 in the chapel at Vaughn Greene Funeral Services - East, 4905 York Road, Baltimore, MD. The family will receive friends starting at 2 pm. An inurnment will take place10 am, Friday, May 6, 2022 in the Gardens of Faith Cemetery, Baltimore, MD.
