Felicia and I met in first grade. We’ve been friends ever since there was a time frame of four years when we did not see each other but we spoke to each other almost monthly. As adults family life and work kept us from seeing a lot of each other especially after my move to Ohio But she was always around for the birth of my babies to the death of my parents and/or siblings, she was always there for emotional support. Fee Fee (her childhood nickname) was a supportive and loving friend, an outstanding mom and a stellar wife. My heart has not been the same since I learned of her death. I know her family is devastated. She beat the odds of her illness. As kids we were told that kids with sickle cell rarely make it to age 18. My late husbands family members barely lived to age 35. Let alone live a full life and to the age of 61 as Fee achieved. I know she was truly blessed and anointed by God. Her life was filled with God’s abundance. Instead of flowers I have donate money to Sickle Cell Disease Association of America, Inc. As I mourn with you, I send my deepest Condolences. May God grant you peace.
