Obituary of Rocco Angelo Aliberti

March 24, 1946 - January 27, 2022 Rocco Angelo Aliberti, age 75, entered into his heavenly home on Thursday, January 27, 2022 with his beloved wife Gini at his side. A native of Milici, Sicily, Rocco was born in 1946 to Salvatore and Maria Buglisi Aliberti, immigrating to the United States on Valentine's Day, 1957. Rocco was humble and quiet, yet an extraordinary gentleman of insight and compassion. He cherished his friends and loved ones ,caring deeply, attending them through even their most difficult times. A great believer in the value of knowledge and education, Rocco graduated from Our Lady of Pompei School in Highlandtown MD and the University of Maryland, College Park where he earned Bachelor's and Master's degrees. Rocco was known for the quality of his character and the values he taught to generations of children and others throughout his life. He taught at Our Lady of Pompei School and several Baltimore City Public Schools, including Harlem Park Middle School, from which he retired after 30 years. In addition to writing poetry, Rocco enjoyed gardening and grilling. Additionally, he enjoyed travels throughout the United States, Europe and Australia and most recently reveled in taking his wife Gini to Sicily to meet his extended family. Rocco is predeceased by his parents and his beloved wife of 30 years, Elizabeth. He is survived by his wife of 6 years, Virginia (Gini) Simmons; his son Joseph Rocco Aliberti and wife Tanza; sister Angela Mastromatteo and her husband Dominic; niece Marie Liddick and her husband Todd, nephew Anthony Mastromatteo and his wife Jillian; great nephews Roman, Max, and Leo; cousin Mary Aliberti and her son Rocco of Bel Air; Michael Aliberti, Jenn Moore and son Carmichael; His Aunt Venera and cousins Angelo DiPasquale and Dominic DiPasquale and their families of Sicily; and many other nieces and nephews. Final arrangements for Rocco have been entrusted to Vaughn C. Greene Funeral Services, 8728 Liberty Road, Randallstown MD 21133. Public visitation will be Monday, February 7, 2022 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, February 8, 2022 at Holy Family Catholic Church, 9531 Liberty Road, Randallstown MD, where the family will receive friends from 10:00-10:30 a.m., with the service to follow. Interment will be at Lorraine Park Cemetery on Dogwood Road in Baltimore immediately following the service.
