Obituary of Jimmie C. Thompson, Sr.

Bishop Jimmie C. Thompson, Sr., age 91, the beloved husband of Prophetess Essie Thompson, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 19, 2022. Bishop Thompson was born on December 5, 1930, in Marion, SC. Prior to retirement, he had been employed as a mail carrier for Johns Hopkins. He served faithfully in the U.S. Navy. A great man of faith, he and his wife began ministry at The New Beginnings Highway Church of Christ. Bishop Thompson will be lying in state Friday, January 28, 2022, at The New Beginning Highway Church of Christ, 3100 W. North Avenue, Baltimore, MD 2121, from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM. The Homegoing celebration will be held 10:30 AM, Saturday, January 29, 2022, at the church. The wake will begin at 10:00 AM. The burial will take place following the services in Dulaney Valley Memorial Park, Timonium, MD.
