Obituary of Robert Downing

On December 18, 2021 Robert Downing was called home to glory. Robert known as Glenn was the oldest child born to the late Thomas G. Downing and Helen V. Copeland-Downing in Portsmouth, Virginia. He served in the United States Army as career serviceman, retiring as a Master Sergeant. He is survived by one daughter and one son-in-law, Arvis Downing-Watkins and James Watkins, of Hamden, Connecticut; one brother and one sister-in-law Thomas G. Downing Jr. and Cynthia Downing, of Garner, North Carolina; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Anita Nelson and Alder Nelson, of Maryland; Artrie "Lynette" Hudson of Virginia Beach, Virginia; one nephew, Desmond Downing Sr., of Maryland and several friends and neighbors. A viewing for Mr. Downing will be held on Thursday, January 7th where the family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until 1:30p.m. at Vaughn C. Greene Funeral Services, 8728 Liberty Road, Randallstown, MD. The interment will take place at Garrison Forest Veterans Cemetery at 2:30PM.
