I too met Willie at auctions in Laurel, Westminster, and Howard County. Though we came from very different worlds we became instant friends. He would place bids for me when I couldn’t be present.
We shared a love for this country. While I will miss his warmth, this world will miss him more.
Folks like Willie Sessoms have become rare in today’s world.

Mr. Willie was one of the first people to welcome me to the auction business when I showed up at Snyder's and B&D in 2009.
Willie and I bonded over our love of baseball and he always had a smile for me when I saw him in later years at the Howard County Fairgrounds. My condolences to his family.

Deepest condolences to the family of Willie Lee Sessoms in honoring his legacy & memory. Just now hearing about the passing of a beloved Cousin.My mother grew up with his Mother, Cordelia, and his Aunt Gladys (Rankin family).His Mother & Aunt were legendary in their pride and love for family and others in the community.This was a part of Willie's upbringing and character that he demonstrated at home and abroad. He was of impeccable character! He left huge footprints on the landscape of humanity that we should all want to emulate in raising the bar for a better world. I am so sad to learn that Mr. Sessoms passed. He mentored me when I was a young enlisted sailor and encouraged me to aspire to greater heights. Me Willie was one of the kindest men I have ever known. I always knew when a radio was coming up to sell at the auction, because he would be standing right there waiting for me to take his bid. He always brought cards for every occasion to all of the women he knew at the auction. When my daughter could no longer clerk for me, he would still bring a card for me to take to her. We adored him and will certainly miss him. Heaven is truly getting an angel.

I will never forget the day I met you and the smile you had one your face. That smile stayed with me always even until this day.
I will miss you very much Uncle Willie lee . You were always so thoughtful loving giving and caring no matter what. You always found a way to reach out to us whether it was through a phone call or a card.
You never failed to communicate with family. You were the best at putting a smile on my face. You never missed sending a Birthday card a Mother's Day card or Holiday card. Yes that was you a giver from your heart and not just to me but my girls too.
I will miss the phone calls the talks and the laughs we shared.
