To My Son
My beloved son while you were still in my womb, I dedicated you to the Lord. I was so excited and also nervous about becoming your mother. I used to read to you while you were inside me and I prayed over you wanting you to have a wonderful life experience free from negative influence, hurt and pain. When you were born your father and I were excited to start our journey as your parents. I knew from the beginning God’s hand was strongly upon you. Life taught that often the greater the anointing on a person the stronger the challenges as the forces of darkness fight to break the covenant bond between the anointed one and the Most High God.
I remember your first words. It amazed me that at 6 months old you recognized the sound of your father’s car. You spoke early and were very observant. I made notes of everything, your facial expressions, your first tooth, you first steps. When you were just weeks old, I would read to you from books we had bought. You seemed to be very focused on the story. There is so much I want to say.
You were always a sensitive soul – empathetic and caring toward others and easily hurt by actions of others. You always had a giving heart. Your smile was infectious. You loved people and sought regular social interaction. You loved family gatherings. It brought such joy to you to be with your grandparents, your sister, cousins, aunts, uncles, brothers and friends during holidays and special occasions. How often you remarked as we were leaving Kelly’s and Loretta’s “I love my family”.
You and I have weathered the years together – through thick or thin, calm, or raging storms, painful events, and happy times. Even during periods of misunderstandings, unintentional offenses, and disagreements there was never a doubt that we loved each other.
We encouraged each other. We fought with each other. We spent time with each other. We protected each other. We made plans together.
I will always remember -
Our mother-son date nights when you were younger (before “date nights” with parents was a thing).
Your big bear hugs.
You chastising me when you felt I was overdoing it.
Our watching television together or renting movies to watch.
Our conversations, often appearing to be more of a debate. You loved sharing your thoughts and opinions.
Our taking rides in the car.
Your love of my macaroni and cheese, spaghetti, sauerkraut, french toast, creamed chipped beef, etc.
Your delicious salmon, breakfasts, desserts (especially your Passover lemon cheesecake).
Most of all your smile, your “I love you Mommy”, and your hugs.
I am so grateful to God that you responded to the wooing of the Holy Spirit to return to your first love – the love of God. I take comfort in knowing you are now in the loving presence of God, awaiting the sound of the shofar and your resurrection.
A mother’s love never ends.
Forever Mom

“Brother”
It was very difficult for me when we lost our father. I had you in my life to remind me of him. Now you are no longer here in the flesh, my heart is heavy with sorrow.
God has called you home. I will never forget our many conversations. We always ended with “I love you”.
Ryan, such an intelligent and knowledgeable person.
A man with a big heart.
Your voice, smile and spirit will forever be with me.
I Love You!
Iris

I only had the pleasure of meeting Rayan once, on the first Wyche family Zoom meet and great. Our interaction was short , however I will always remember that conversation and his smile.
Rest with God, cousin
