Obituary of Edward Brown

Edward A. Brown, Sr, age 71 transitioned to glory on April 21, 2021, at Gilchrist Inpatient Hospice. He was born May 25th, 1949 at Old Provident Hospital in Baltimore, MD., the son of Sol & Floree (Glover) Brown. Edward was a graduate of City College of Baltimore in 1968. Following graduation, he worked at Gordon's Seafood franchise and then Johns Hopkins Hospital. In 1976, Edward embarked upon working at Bethlehem Steel as a crane operator. Edward worked 25 years down the steel mill until his retirement in 2002. Shortly after high school he met his lifetime partner Frances Ross. They were married on November 18th, 1970. They celebrated 50 years of marriage in 2020. Edward was baptized at an early age at Knox Presbyterian Church. Edward was a bigger than life personality, and always knew how to make someone laugh. A great provider, giving heart, and protective spirit were traits that his cherished loved ones were blessed to experience. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by siblings, Betty, Bobby, David, & Johnny, son in law Leon, brother-in-law Prince, sister-in-law Jessie. He is survived by his wife of 50 + plus years Frances, daughters Shawn Thompson of Charlotte, NC, Theresa Brown of Elkton, MD, son Edward A. Jr. of Aberdeen , MD &(daughter in law Kira Brown) , son in law Eric McIntyre, 10 grandchildren Brandon, Deborah, Lanayha, LaKia, , Lil Allen ,Taylor, Madison, Eddie, Kirsten & Javon, 1 great grandchild Island, 1 brother Solomon Brown( sis in law Reaver Brown) of Baltimore, MD, 1 sister Janice Lindsay of Baltimore, MD, sister in law Lenora Brown, a host of aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, & friends . There was a special bond and relationship with nephews Anthony and Michael Brown. A service of remembrance will be held 10:00 am Friday, May 14th at Vaughn C. Greene Funeral Home,5151 Baltimore National Pike, Baltimore, MD 21229. Interment will be at Arbutus Memorial Park, 1101 Sulphur Spring Rd. Baltimore, MD. 21227.
