My family is praying for the Owens family. Mrs. Owens, and her sisters, are strong role models for those of us fortunate to know them. May God send you comfort during this difficult time.

BRIDGET OWENS FENNER posted a condolence
Thursday, April 1, 2021
It is very hard to write when you are heartbroken, which I am today. This great lady is my beloved Aunt (my Mom's sister). She was a part of every major event in my life (high school graduation, college graduation, marriage, birth of my daughter, death of my Mom, and the death of my Dad). She was always there. And, as the years passed, and she continued to grow old beautifully, I thought she would be with us forever! I remember as a young child, my Mom would become sick, and she would tell me that you are going to spend a couple of days with "Sister" "because the men in this house don't know how to take care of a little girl." My Dad would drop me off and then pick me up in the morning from Aunt Doris' house and take me to school, pick me up from school, and take me back to her house. I remember those delicious cinnamon buns in the morning, straight out of the oven. I remember all of the toys Yvette had in the basement. And, we would play for hours and hours. I loved staying there. Brothers are boring. I also remember my dear Grandmother and Aunt Doris, standing side by side, in my Grandmother's kitchen cooking breakfast for all of us who were in that house every August, every year, until my Grandparents passed away. I still remember waking up to the smell of bacon and country ham. My Grandmother's homemade biscuits were out of this world! Aunt Doris would stand watch and make sure everyone got at least one biscuit. Do not attempt to take two biscuits! I want to take a phrase from Hezekiah Walker "I am grateful for the things that you have done. I am grateful for the victories we won. I could go on and on about your works..." I will remain grateful forever, and I love you forever. Your Niece, Bridget Owens Fenner (Bunnie)
