Robert Wright

Obituary of Robert Elias Wright

Robert Wright came into this world on December 23, 1922 and he ascended from it on October 12, 2020 at the age of 97. He was born to parents Lily and Harvey Wright in Cockeysville, MD, a place he was always keen to tell you a story about. He loved his hometown and was eager to share its history. He also received his education here at Baltimore County schools. Robert, known as Bobby to his colleagues, worked for Louis Grasmick Lumber Company until the incredible age of 94. His work-family cared for him deeply, and he would often go and visit long after he retired, just to keep up with them. He was known to be a charming man who left smiles in his wake, and the family and employees of Louis Grasmick can attest to that. Robert loved cars and drove himself around until the age of 94. He kept small replica cars in his room, and decorated all of the cars he drove with a personal touch so everyone would know they were his. His pride and joy was his pick-up truck that he took care of with a passion. Known to his family as Robbie and Granddaddy, he was a widower who continued to love his deceased wife, Frances "Sweetheart" Rogers, fiercely. He also outlived his one daughter, Frances Louise Rogers, whom he lovingly called "Snooks", who passed away in 2007. Granddaddy leaves behind a devoted granddaughter, Donique Rogers, grandson Kevin Rogers, Sr., and Kevin's wife, Patricia Rogers. He also leaves behind his great-grandchildren that he still was so active and involved with: Kevin Rogers, Jr., Morgan Rogers, Ryan Rogers, Michael Rogers, and Tylar Rogers. Robert Wright will be missed dearly by his family and friends. He was a funny, endearing man who inspired loyalty in others. He loved his Westerns, his cars, and his family that he remained committed to taking care of. He was a good man, and his absence will be felt forever. We love you.
