Obituary of Jerry Hilton Ramsey

Jerry Ramsey was born on July 5, 1930, in Jamaica, New York to the parentage of the late Titus Ramsey and the late Eugenia Taylor. He departed this life on Wednesday, September 23, 2020. He was the oldest of three children. Jerry was raised in Jamestown, South Carolina by his grandparents, the late Jeremiah and Alice Taylor. At an early age, he joined Liberty Reformed Episcopal Church in Jamestown, South Carolina, and continued to be a devoted Christian throughout his life. His favorite scripture was taken from the Lord's Prayer, "let thou will be done". Jerry attended Jamestown Public Schools in Jamestown, South Carolina. After high school, he enlisted into the United States Army, where he served his country for several years. He then married his soulmate, Clemmie Teen Beauford. His work ethics were very high, where he spent most of his distinguished career working at Bethlehem Steele for 41 years until his retirement. Jerry faithfully served as a member of the Mount Pleasant Baptist Church in Baltimore, Maryland. Jerry was a fun-loving and outgoing individual who enjoyed interacting with family and friends. One particular note, he enjoyed singing as a tenor in a gospel quartet. Jerry's memory will live in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
