Obituary of Nellie Gray Jackson

On the morning of August 10th, 2020 God called Nellie G. Jackson home and said, "Rest My Good and Faithful Servant." Nellie was born January 18th, 1932 in Chesterfield, South Carolina to the late John and Lillian Burch. She received her education in North Carolina before she settled in Baltimore, Maryland. She met and married her late husband Matthew Jackson in Chesterfield, South Carolina. They had two sons Donald and Charles Jackson of Randallstown, Maryland. She worked and retired from Rosewood State Hospital in Owings Mills, Maryland after 32 years of employment. Nellie enjoyed her time as an Eastern Star, traveling to different countries, sewing, crafting and took pride in living her life to the fullest. Sher was a dedicated member of New Psalmist Baptist Church of Baltimore, Maryland where she enjoyed Bible Studies and other church activities. She was one of nine children, she was proceeded in death by George Franklin Burch and Charles Rayford Burch, who died at birth as well as John Burch, Franklin Burch, Melvin Burch and Edith Doris Mills. Her memory shall always be cherished by her two sons, Donald Jackson and Charles Jackson; her two sisters, Elsie Dykes and Petite Burch, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Nellie was admired, loved and respected by all who knew her. A viewing for Mrs. Nellie G. Jackson will be held on Saturday, August 15th, where the family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Vaughn C. Greene Funeral Services, 8728 Liberty Road, Randallstown, MD. Immediately following the viewing the family will have a Graveside Service at the Druid Ridge Cemetery, 7900 Park Heights Ave, Pikesville, MD 21208 at 1:30PM.
