I retired from the Goucher library three years ago, but often get back for a visit. I was always happy when that visit included a hug and some conversation with Mr. Earl. I'll miss his kindness and good cheer. And I'm sure no one will ever make those Athenaeum floors sparkle like he did! Our conversations usually included an update on the family, to whom I send both sympathy and gratitude for sharing him with his Goucher community. --Nancy

I'm so sorry to hear of Mr. Earl's passing. I work at Goucher and used to see him regularly until my office location changed. We always stopped to say hi when we saw each other and ask how the other was doing. He often mentioned his family and how he never wanted to retire. I will greatly miss seeing him on campus.
