Obituary of Barbara Ann Carrington

Barbara Ann Carrington, daughter of the late Leroy "Buck" Gaither and Mamie E. Talbott was born in Baltimore, Maryland on September 20, 1936. She transitioned into glory on Saturday, July 4, 2020. Barbara was married to the late Dr. Russell H. Carrington, Jr. of Baltimore. From that union they had three children, Pamela Jeanine, Stephen Michael and Jeffrey Hubert. For more than 25 years, she was employed by the Baltimore City School System, holding various positions from classroom aide to guidance counselor administrative assistant. After a short time of being fully retired, she decided to go back to work part-time in the Baltimore County School System. During her summers off, she took the opportunity to travel nationally and internationally to such destinations as Hawaii, London and Spain and took several cruises. As a member of the Union Bethel AME Church, Barbara became an active and committed member serving on the Stewardess Board, singing in the choir and participating in the Senior Outreach Ministry. She attended services regularly until her health prevented her from doing so. As a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother she doted over her family and would do anything for them. She is survived by her 3 children, Pamela, Stephen and Jeffrey, 6 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, a son-in-law, 2 daughter's in-law, a sister-in-law, along with a host of loving family, friends and neighbors.
