On Tuesday, June 9, 2020 the Lord called Robert home. Robert was affectionately known as Bob, Bobby, or Rob. In his early years, he lived at 1019 N. Wolfe Street in East Baltimore with his brothers and sisters: Mary, Annette, Donald, Edward Jr., and Gregory as well as four cousins: Lou Ellen, Janice, Cynthia, and Steven also raised as siblings. Rob was baptized at Faith Baptist Church at an early age. He attended Baltimore City Public Schools and graduated from Dunbar High School in 1957. He continued his college education at Morgan State University (MSU), graduating in 1963 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science. He remained an active and lifelong alumni member of MSU until his passing. As a young teenager, Robert developed a love for the sport of boxing.
