Obituary of Wilbert Henry Bordley
Wilbert Henry Bordley, son of William and Esther Bordley was born September 1, 1932 in Baltimore, Maryland. Wilbert was the second eldest son of six children (5 boys & 1 girl). He received his education from the Baltimore City Public Schools System. He attended Carver Senior High School while learning a trade in cabinetry. He was the go-to when it came to fixing things around the house and building extra fixtures within the home. Although, he did not graduate from Carver, he did receive his GED. Wilbert then joined the Air Force where his occupation was Aircraft Chief Jet Mechanic. He served his country as a veteran of The Korean War. He later established a career at Bethlehem Steel as a Foreman until he retired.
Prior to joining the Air Force, he met Virginia and they were married on April 2, 1955. Wilbert and Virginia just celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary and was able to spend time together on this very special day. Out of this union, they had two children Orrin and Conan. Wilbert was known as "Pop", "Pop Pop", "Big Will" & "Short Daddy" and he was something else! Pop spoke his mind with no regrets but would give you his right arm if you needed it. He loved to steam crabs, read and listen to jazz.
He leaves to mourn his loving wife Virginia Bordley, one son Conan "Cody" Bordley, one daughter-in-law Tracey Bordley, one granddaughter Andrea Fowlkes (Kenneth), one grandson Marquis Bordley (Shakenia), two brothers Elwood & Roland Bordley, 12 great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
