Obituary of Madgeline Lucas-Howze

Madgeline Lucas-Howze, age 90, of Pikesville, transitioned Monday, May 4, 2020. Ms. Lucas-Howze was born December 4, 1929 in Wilson, NC. On Wednesday, May 13th. A private service for Mrs. Lucas-Howze will be held at Vaughn Greene Randallstown Chapel from 11:00-12:00PM. The interment will take place at King Memorial Park following services. Obituary: Madgeline Lucas Howze, 90, went to be with her Lord on May 4, 2020, while surrounded by her family. On December 4, 1929, Madgeline Lucas Howze was born. She grew up in Wilson, NC, where she was affectionately known as " Tootsie" and " Lady." She married the love of her life, Lee Chester Howze. The couple was married for over 40 years before Lee Chester Howze passed away on March 29, 2017. Madgeline was a devoted and loving mother. She was very proud of her family and loved being around all of her grandchildren. Madgeline loved gardening, fishing with her late husband and friends, and family get-togethers. Any chance to spend time with her family was important to her. Madgeline was a faithful member of her church in Pikeville, NC. She served God as an Usher for 25 years and, most recently, the mother of the church until she became ill. Madgeline was known for her feistiness, yet good sense of humor, beautiful smile, and loving heart. She will be missed by all that knew and loved her. Madgeline Lucas Howze lived a full life. She is survived by her daughters - Glennie Lewis, and Shirley Ann Lewis and (husband) Russell Lewis, Sr, sons - Tommy Leake, Sr. and (wife) Deborah, and John Smith, one sister - Susie Barnes, and a niece - Annie Randolph. Her legacy will carry on through her children, 15 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters - Eva, Martha, and Mary, brothers - Fate, John, Ivey, Sidney Jr, and Guy, and Two sons whom she loved dearly - William Milton and Richard Douglas.
