Obituary of Steven Derek Milligan

Mr. Steven Derek Milligan, age 66, of Randallstown, transitioned Friday, April 10, 2020 in Baltimore. Mr. Milligan was born January 23, 1954 in Baltimore, MD. He was married to Mrs. Lillian M. Milligan. Steven Derek Milligan was born January 23, 1954 in Baltimore, Maryland to the late James W. and Ada P. Conway Milligan. He was raised in the Baltimore City neighborhood of Cherry Hill. Steven did not have a church home upon his departure, but spent years actively serving and participating at Union Bethel AME in Randallstown. Steven attended Southern High School, and later received his GED diploma prior to beginning his career with the National Institutes of Health in October of 1980. During his 39 years of tenure, he held various positions and made countless friends whom he held dear to his heart. As his health declined towards the end of his career, he was truly saddened that he was forced into retirement and unable to spend much time with his work friends. Steven, affectionately known as "Pop" loved fishing, grilling, and spending time with his family. He also enjoyed music, and could usually be found grooving out to some Smooth Jazz, James Brown, or belting out a tune, as he was a self-proclaimed professional singer. After battling with liver cancer and intensive treatments for over a year, Pop peacefully transitioned on the morning of April 10th, 2020 with family at his bedside. He will be fondly remembered for his sense of humor, genuine personality, and being a man of integrity. He leaves to cherish his memory: wife, Lillian; daughters, Lisa and Monique; sons, Sean, Steven Jr, Dominic, and Matt; brothers, William, Maurice, and James; sisters, Dianna, Sharon, and Karen; granddaughters, Jilliane, Alexus,Za'kejah,Shaquane, and Journey grandsons Steven III and Sean Jr and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends A PRIVATE Family Viewing will be held Tuesday, April 14, 2020 at Vaughn C. Greene Funeral Services, 8728 Liberty Road, Randallstown, MD (21133). A PRIVATE Homegoing Celebration will be held Wednesday, April 15, 2020 in the Chapel of Vaughn C. Greene Funeral Services, 8728 Liberty Road, Randallstown, MD (21133). A PRIVATE interment will take place at Druid Ridge in Pikesville Wednesday, April 15, 2020 immediately following services.
