I had known Ruth since moving into the neighborhood for 15 years. She showed me around the neighborhood, and we became friends. We shopped, went on trips together, and supported each other, when needed. Ruth was kind, and what i loved the most, and will miss most of all, is her feisty spirit The neighborhood wont be the same without her. She will be truly missed!. My deepest sympathy for the loss of your loved one to all family members.

Our sincere sympathy to all of you. We were so sorry to hear the news of your mom's/grandmother's passing. We have been neighbors for many years, and perhaps first met her years ago when she bought a wardrobe from our yard sale. My husband remembers that she was so excited to get it, and asked us to carry it up the street to her house. Her house was always so clean and orderly, and her yard as well was well maintained. Mrs. Ruth was one of our son Stephen's first lawn care customers and often hired him for other odd jobs around the house, again demonstrating her diligence in keeping her home and yard neat and orderly (I would love to have some of her skills in that area!). When Stephen went to Haiti, Mrs. Ruth was among those who attended a going away party. We are all sad that we did not get over to see her at Future Care.
She enjoyed having pictures of her family on the wall and sometimes asked for help in putting new ones up or finding frames for them. She was proud of you all. The last picture she gave me to find a frame for was one of her children (I believe) in Sunday school? Or maybe her? She seemed to cherish that picture as well. Again, please accept our sincere sympathy in your loss.

I first became aquainted with our neighbor Mrs. Ruth many years ago when she bought a piece of furniture we were selling at a yard sale. We carried it over to her house, which was always very clean and orderly inside and out. As our children grew she often hired them for a variety of jobs - everything from changing light bulbs to driving her to the mall. Though she was not wealthy, she always paid them well. She will be missed.
For her family members who are also missing her, here are some words of Jesus from the scriptures to consider: John 3:16 For God so loved the World that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. 17 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. 18 He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

All through my growing up years Mrs. Ruth as I called her was one of my most faithful lawn and handyman customers. She set her own prices and they were always fair, and often more than others would pay for the same service. Other neighbors hired me to simply cut their grass, but Mrs. Ruth trusted me to do many kinds of maintenance in her house and yard She always demanded excellence and had very specific expectations which I did my best to understand. Though it was sometimes stressful, I grew to appreciate her standards and enjoyed doing my best work for her. The experience I gained has served me well in my current missionary work in Haiti and the Dominican Republic. I am grateful that I had multiple opportunities to share the Gospel with her, the good news that Jesus died to pay the death penalty that we deserve, and rose again to give us the life with God that we were meant to have. God's standard is "Ye shall be holy: for I the LORD your God am holy." (Leviticus 19:2 and 1 Peter 1:15-16) that is impossible for any of us to meet unless we take His gift of salvation and righteousness and life. Jesus said "I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me."(John 14:6)
