Obituary of Felix Gregory Greene

Felix Gregory Greene ("Putty") was born on June 2, 1946, in Baltimore, Maryland, the first child to Woodrow M. Greene and the late Bessie M. Greene. Five more siblings followed: Michael, Bernadine, Victor, Angelique and Baxter. On Tuesday, June 11, 2024, the Lord called Felix home after a short illness. Felix grew up in the Cherry Hill community of Baltimore, Maryland. He was confirmed and baptized in the Cherry Hill Presbyterian Church where he forged many life-long friendships. Felix received his formal education from the Baltimore City Public School system. He graduated from Carver Vocational High School, where he was an outstanding athlete; he was a champion wrestler, an all-metro football player, and a letterman baseball player. After high school, Felix enlisted in the National Guard where he faithfully served his country. After being honorably discharged from service, Felix married Sharon Brown and from that union he had two children, Aaron Winston Greene and Deana Michelle Greene. During this time, he was employed by the United States Postal Service. He later married Sharon Holmes and from that union he had one son, Felix Gregory Greene Jr. Felix remained with the United States Postal Service for over three decades until his retirement. Felix was a God-fearing man who loved the Lord and put God first in his life. He was family-oriented and always made it a point to check on the well-being of his family and friends daily. Felix had a passion for sports and horse racing and was an unwavering fan and fervent supporter of the Baltimore Orioles and his beloved Ravens. He had a hearty laugh that was unforgettable and often brought laughter to those around him with his keen sense of humor and unlimited dotes of wisdom. Felix fancied himself a haberdasher (in his words) and had a wardrobe for every occasion. He was an avid chess player and a walking encyclopedia. Felix enjoyed the game of golf and was a caddy at Woodholme Country Club from high school until his health declined. Felix was preceded in death by his brothers, Micheal and Baxter; son, Robert Darby; and daughter, Deana Michele Cunningham. Felix leaves to mourn and cherish his memory: his wife, Sharon Greene; three sons Aaron Greene, Felix Greene, Jr., and Eric Nelson; his father, Woodrow Greene; two sisters, Bernadine Jones (Reginald) and Angelique Greene; one brother, Victor Greene; twelve grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
