Obituary of Marguerite Moore

MARGUERITE MOORE, daughter of the late Willie Lee Curtis and Thomas Henderson was born May 21,1939 in Oxford, North Carolina. She transitioned peacefully on Christmas Day, Monday, December 25, 2023. Marguerite received her education in the North Carolina Public School System until her family relocated to Baltimore, Maryland. Marguerite received the Lord into her life at an early age. Marguerite became a member at Mount Hatten Baptist Church where she married James Moore, Sr. and from this union they raised five children. From a young age, Marguerite cultivated a strong work ethic, learning the values of hard work and independence. Her tireless commitment to her endeavors became a cornerstone of her character. She was employed by MedStar Good Samaritan Hospital and later by Park Crest Apartments where she retired in 2001. Marguerite's skills in the kitchen were legendary. Among her most coveted dishes were her delectable dressing, rice pudding, and sweet potato pie that left everyone asking for seconds. Her delightful sense of humor shone through in the form of playful teasing and the endearing nicknames she affectionately bestowed upon her children and grandchildren At family gatherings, if you crossed her path, you were definitely in for a good roasting. Marguerite, a devoted matriarch, epitomized steadfast dedication to her family. In her roles as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, she displayed unwavering love for her family; a love that wasn't loud, but echoed in every quiet moment. As a steadfast pillar of support, Marguerite's generosity knew no bounds, consistently offering solace in times of need. Her hearty laugh and nurturing spirit, which touched the lives of many, will be dearly missed. Marguerite was preceded in death by her husband, James Moore, Sr; and two sons; Marcell Henderson and Michael Moore. She leaves to cherish her precious memory: two daughters, Diana Henderson and Charlotte Watson; one son, James Moore, Jr.; one son-in-law, Raymond Watson Jr.; five grandchildren, Reginald Carter, Sr.(Latrese),Tavon Fullwood,Tiffany James Dente', Brittany James, Cecilia Gilspy, Devin Moore (Sloane), Nicholas and Sherrod Alto; thirteen great-grandchildren; a host of family and friends.
