Obituary of Benjamin Joseph Mobley, Sr.

Benjamin Joseph Mobley, Sr. was born on July 29, 1950, in Miami, Florida, the son of the late Ben F. and Rebecca (Spencer) Mobley. He accepted Christ at the early age of seven at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church in Miami, Florida. Educated in Miami Dade County school system, Benjamin graduated from Miami Carroll City High School, Class of 1969. Following attendance at Miami Dade Junior College, he joined the U.S. Navy in 1972 where he served two tours during the Vietnam War era. In 1989 he moved to Baltimore, MD, beginning his career with and retiring from Caplan Brothers Glass Company after almost 30 years of employment. He met his present wife, Renée in 1990. They married in 1997 and raised a family together for a total of thirty-three years. Benjamin's most beloved pastimes were deep sea fishing, traveling, collecting items of the entertainment genre and spending time with family and friends. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his daughter Melissa Ann Mobley. He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Renée (Ingram) Mobley, his five sons, Terrance of AZ, Kevin (Rebecca) of FL, Benjamin Jr. (Stephanie) of TX, Triton of RI, Brian (Shannon) of GA. His three daughters Latoya Williams of MI, Kimberly Glisson, and Melanie Church of MD. Three sisters, Francina L. Lowe (Stanley) of Baltimore, MD, Stephanie R. Roux (Oscar Ray) of Miami, FL and Veronica L. Williams of Waxhaw, NC. Two brothers, Michael G. Mobley I of Miramar, FL, and Donal L. Mobley (Shirley) of Waynesboro, GA. His aunt, Annie Jo Walker of Waynesboro, GA and his uncle Hugh Sullivan of Rivera Beach, FL. His grandson whom he raised, Malachi Church of MD along with seventeen other grandchildren, one great-grandchild and 3 nieces, 7 nephews, and a host of in-laws, cousins and friends.
