Obituary of George Henry Newby, III

Sunrise: George Henry Newby III, Beloved son of George H. Newby Jr and the late Erma Cullins Newby was born on October 24, 1957 in Portsmouth, Virginia. He grew up with his sisters. He was lovingly known as "Spud". Sunset: George peacefully went from labor to rest into the arms of his lord on Monday April 4, 2022. Salvation: George H. Newby III was born into the Catholic Faith during his life he served as an Altar Boy at St. Peters Claver Cathlic Church, Macon, GA. He had a loving spirit! Education and Work Experience: George attended and graduated from Kecoughtan High School, Norfolk, VA in 1975. George attended Hampton University and majored in Engineering. George had a dream!. He moved to Alexandria, VA and began his career with the Federal Bureau of Investigation. George was an FBI Certified Fingerprint Examiner! George left the Bureau in 1996 and began a career with the State of Maryland, he worked for Department of Corrections and Public Safety. Criminal Justice and Information Systems Unit and became a Fingerprint Specialist Advanced! Family: George loved his three sons, Jermell, Ahmad, and Aaron. George made it point to call his family every day, he loved them very much. George met his fiancé Charylene Phyall who cordially introduced herself to him in 1992 at the Federal Bureau of Investigation in Washington, DC. George inherited another son Justin whom he also loved. Memories: George loved music. He taught himself how to play the guitar. He loved all genres of music. As a prolific writer, George crafted a catalog of songs of love! George and Charylene had embedded over their love for music. Charylene's favorite memory of George is singing and playing the song "Operator" by Jim Croce on his guitar. George is preceded in death by his mother the late Erma Cullins Newby. George leaves to cherish his memory his fiance Charylene, his sons: Jermell S. Ford (Veronica) Virginia Beach, VA, Ahmad Newby (DeAndra) Charleston, SC, Aaron Newby (Courtney) Norfolk, VA, Justin Battle , Baltimore, MD, Father; George H. Newby Jr, Norfolk, VA, Sisters: Donna Newby and Valerie Newby, Macon, GA, Grandchildren: Gabriel, Shayna, Erin, Alonzo and Grayson, Niece-Dominique R. Newby, Nephew-Joshua I. Newby-Ray. Lifelong Friends-Arthur Fladger, Fatcat Hackett, Lester Sims, James Alexander, Gregory Gibson, Sherman Stevens, Lynn Crawley. And a host of family, and friends who will cherish his memory.
