Obituary of Mildred Elizabeth Faulkner

Mildred Elizabeth Faulkner, 75, of Baltimore, MD, known to friends as "Mil", transitioned to eternal life on Sunday, March 14, 2021. Mil was born to Gracie Joyner and Berni C. "Ernest" Robertson on April 25, 1945 in Baltimore, MD. She was raised in Andover, Ohio and graduated from Pymatuning Valley High School in June, 1963. Thereafter, she returned to Baltimore, MD, where she became a mother and raised her family. Mil loved her children, grandchildren, step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren beyond measure and instilled in them, a sense of determination, perseverance and moral character, which she taught by example. Mil was a hardworking and dedicated security officer for more than two decades, with ten years tenure at Broadway Services followed by eleven years tenure at Johns Hopkins Hospital. Mil retired as a Master Security Officer in 2018. A women of great faith and a blessing to many, Mil formed long-lasting bonds with all who came to know her. She allowed God to use her in service to others and was instinctively led by her heart and God's hand. She often aided friends and family with a listening ear, a shoulder to lean on and a place of respite in their time of need. Mil, herself, endured and overcame much by God's grace and mercy, and as such, compassionately served the Lord in word and deed. Mil enjoyed watching the Lifetime Channel on television, was a huge Baltimore Ravens fan and loved spending time with family and friends most of all. Along with her beloved father, Berni C. "Ernest" Robertson, Mil was preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Eric Guy. She is survived by her dear mother, Gracie Joyner Cunningham; two loving sons, Lamont Kenneth Joyner (Antoinette Marie) and Troy E. Joyner (Penny Lee); sisters, Shirley Carter (Mack), Bertina Silver, Wanda Guy (Eric - deceased) and Patricia Taylor (Paris); brothers, Michael Cunningham (Amanda) and Burke Cunningham; grandchildren, Christina Lynn Joyner, Lamont Kenneth Joyner Jr. and Isaiah Joyner; step grandchildren, Donald McFadden, Keyona McFadden, Dyneisha McFadden and Takaya Leach; great grandchildren, Mason Joyner, Karter Heard and Kommon Heard, all of Baltimore; and niece, Tangie Scales of Mechanicsville, MD, as well as extended family and friends. Though sorely missed, fond memories of Mil live on in us all.
