Obituary of Davie Priester

Davie Priester was born on July 30, 1943, in Brooklyn, New York, to his beloved mother, Louise Priester. He was one of two brothers. His beloved brother preceded him in death, and Davie carried the memories of his family with him throughout his life. Davie spent more than 40 years living on President Street in Brooklyn, New York, where he became a familiar and respected presence in the neighborhood. He was known throughout the community simply as "Priester." To many, he wasn't just a neighbor—he was a friend, a familiar face, and a cherished part of the community. Davie was a man whose presence could never be overlooked. Tall in stature with a tough exterior, those who truly knew him understood that beneath it all was a kind and loving heart. He had a way of making his presence known, and those who knew him will always remember his personality, his strength, and his unmistakable spirit. Davie was married once during his lifetime, but he did not have any children of his own. In 2017, he relocated from Brooklyn, New York, to Maryland, where he made Dundalk his home. He remained in Dundalk until his passing. One of Davie's greatest joys was football. Sundays were reserved for watching the games, a tradition he faithfully enjoyed. Music also held a special place in his heart. He loved listening to The O'Jays and Otis Redding, whose soulful music brought him happiness and often filled his home. Davie proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps and was honored to have completed two tours during the Vietnam War. His military service was a source of great pride throughout his life. He carried with him the courage, discipline, loyalty, and resilience that defined him as a Marine. Anyone who spent time with Davie knew his signature saying, "Utay ugh!" It was a phrase that became uniquely his and one that will forever bring smiles, laughter, and cherished memories to those who loved him. Davie is survived by his loving extended family: his sister, Mildred Marie Hagins Denny; his nieces, Shena Sterling, Celeste Torres, and Celina Torres; his great-nephews, Kahrim Eason, Zion Thompson, Charles Torres, and Jaxon Torres; his great-nieces, Evonte' Torres, Shadasia Hagins, and Aubrey Torres; and his great-great-nieces, Kaila Eason, Kalise Eason, and Kahlani Eason. He also leaves behind many other relatives, friends, and neighbors who will forever treasure the memories they shared with him. Though Davie has departed this life, the things that made him who he was will never leave us. His strength, kindness, laughter, Sunday football traditions, love of music, pride in serving his country, Brooklyn roots, and unforgettable "Utay ugh!" will continue to live on in the hearts of everyone who knew and loved him. From Brooklyn to Maryland, Davie lived a life filled with emories, friendships, family, service, and moments that will never be forgotten.
