Obituary
Obituary of Albert Leon Foster Jr
Please share a memory of Albert to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
It is with heavy hearts that we share the loss of Albert Leon Foster Jr., affectionately known as Leon/Bobby/Al who passed away on June 28, 2026 due to unforeseen complications from surgery. He was born May 28, 1948, to the late Albert Leon Foster Sr and Ernestine Foster Hayes in Baltimore Maryland.
Baltimore County/Baltimore City Public Schools provided Leon with his formal schooling. After being drafted, he was honorably discharged from the US Army.
"Al Foster" (Engine 4/Truck 29) retired from the Baltimore City Fire Department.
He was previously married to Felicia Foster, Lois Foster, and Willie Mae Foster, all of whom survived him.
Leon was known for his generosity- a quality that drew people to him wherever he went.
Bobby is survived by seven children Tony, Keith, Cerita, Gwendolyn, Mark, Albert 3rd (Jade)and Nicholas, eight grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, one sister Lori McCoy, one brother-in-law Michael Johnson, one sister-in-law Gwendolyn Johnson, devoted friend Carolyn Allen, a special bond with Doug Christian and sister-cousin Sonja Butler and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
Even though he cherished life, he was very clear about his desire to be cremated, have his ashes scattered, and forego a funeral or burial. We are honoring his wishes as a family.
The Broken Chain
We little knew that morning, that God was going to call your name.
In life we loved you dearly, in death we do the same.
It broke our hearts to lose you; you did not go alone.
For part of us went with you, the day God called you home.
You left us peaceful memories, your love is still our guide.
And though we cannot see you, you are always at our side.
Our family chain is broken, and nothing seems the same.
But as God calls us one by one, the chain will link again.
