Obituary of Ozetter Adams Wilkins

Ozetter Adams Wilkins was born on June 4, 1924 to Rebecca and Lowry Adams in Clover (York County), South Carolina. She departed this life on March 3, 2026 at the age of 101 years and nine months old while in the trusted care of Future Care – Good Samaritan Nursing Home.
Ozetter attended primary school in Clover and Bowling Green, South Carolina. She later briefly attended beauty culture (cosmetology) school working towards a profession in hairdressing. In 1942, Ozetter married Lewis Camp Wilkins in Winston Salem, North Carolina. From that union, Larry Wilkins was born. She later moved to Washington, D.C. to live and from there to Baltimore, Maryland. Ozetter would meet Curtis Cruse, who was the father of Curtis Jr. and Stanley James Cruse.
She would later do domestic work to raise and support her three boys. Ozetter worked as a domestic engineer (housekeeper) for Judge Michael Paul Smith and the Duncan family (Towson, Maryland) for 35+ years.
Ozetter was a faithful member and willing worker of St. John Alpha and Omega Pentecostal Church under the leadership of the The Rt. Rev Magdeline Phillips and later under her son, Bishop Stanley Cruse.
In her down time, she enjoyed watching judge and wrestling shows, cooking for her family and eating "choice" foods. She also enjoyed doing word puzzles and games, caring for plants, fellowshipping with the saints, and visitations with family and friends.
Ozetter leaves to cherish the memory of her love, her son, Bishop Stanley James Cruse and wife, Betty; daughter-in-law, Gene Wilkins; "other daughter" – Annie Patillo; nine grandchildren—Kevin, Deidre, Tracy, Lynnette, Torey, Bridget, Amy, Christina, and Michael; one special first cousin – Isaiah Sadler (Philadelphia, PA) one niece – Jackie McGee (Compton, CA); one nephew – Raymond Adams and wife, Suzette (Philadelphia, PA); a host of great grands; great-great grands; and great-great-great grands. She also leaves a host of cherished relatives and friends.
A viewing for Mrs. Wilkins will be held on Monday, March 16, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Vaughn Greene Funeral Services, 8728 Liberty Road Randallstown, MD 21133.
On Tuesday, March 17, 2026, a homegoing celebration for Mrs. Ozetter Wilkins will be held at Vaughn Greene Funeral Services, 8728 Liberty Road Randallstown, MD 21133 where the family will receive friends from 10:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. with services to follow.
Immediately following services, the Interment will be held at Maryland National Cemetery.
