Obituary of Leon Spruill

Leon Spruill was born in Norfolk, Virginia on May 30, 1937, the youngest of six siblings. He peacefully departed this life on January 17, 2026 in Olney, Maryland at age 88.
Educated in Norfolk public schools, Spruill earned his diploma from Booker T. Washington High School. Soon after, he enlisted in the military and proudly served in the U.S. Navy from 1956 to 1960.
After residing in Virginia and California, he relocated in 2022 to Maryland to be closer to loved ones.
Spruill is survived by two daughters: Sherry Spruill; Dr. Tracy S. King (Marty); Gregory Miller, bonus son; as well as grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and a host of relatives and friends. Services will be held on Saturday, January 31, 2026 at 2:00 pm at Vaughn Greene Funeral Services, 8728 Liberty Road, Randallstown, Md 21133.
