Obituary of Lorraine Lillian Stevenson

Please share a memory of Lorraine to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Lorraine Lillian Stevenson was born in Baltimore MD on October 18, 1940 to the late Ruth Hall. She peacefully departed this life on December 20, 2025, at the age of 85. Lorraine was married to the late Nathaniel Stevenson, Jr., for 64 years. From this union three sons were born, Nathaniel Stevenson III, Orlando Stevenson and Marty Stevenson. Lorraine attended Frederick Douglass High School and went on to graduate from Notre Dame of Maryland University with a bachelor's degree. She enjoyed a distinguished career, spanning more than 35 years as an Operations Program Manager at Westinghouse and Northrop and Grumman working on repairs and spares contracts that supported the U.S. Navy. Her dedication and excellence were recognized by numerous timely achievement and performance awards for her leadership in early deliveries on spares and for ensuring quick turnaround on repair contracts. Lorraine's commitment helped keep critical hardware repaired and in service for the warfighter and did so with remarkable ability to forge strong relationships with everyone from those building to testing, inspecting to shipping – truly as only Lorraine could. Lorraine was a devoted Christian and a member of Arlington Baptist Church. She was a dedicated wife, mother and friend. Her family was her pride and joy. In both everything great and small, she instilled her uplifting energy and spirit with all around her. Even through her illness, she remained strong and always kept her family and friends together with peace and joy. Lorraine enjoyed traveling, cruising with friends, playing board games such as Sorry and Uno, word search puzzles and she loved watching her "Jeopardy." She especially looked forward to her annual vacations; cherishing time spent in Deep Creek. She was the seventh of eight children and was preceded in death by: three sisters, Audrey, Shirley, and Geraldine; and four brothers, George, Ivan, Gilbert and Vernon. Lorraine's passing leaves a profound void in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. She leaves to cherish her memories: three sons, Nathaniel Stevenson III, Orlando Stevenson, Sr. and Marty Stevenson, Sr.; three daughters-in-law, Gwendolyn Stevenson, Maryilin Stevenson and Shirley Stevenson; six grandchildren, Nathaniel IV, Shannin, Orlando, Jr. (Starr), Brandon (Shanice), Marty, Jr. and Markus; four great grandchildren, Dalan, Oaklyn, Omar and Orlaya; two lifelong friends, Catherine Robinson (Kitty) and Harriet; a godson, Wryan Robinson and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
